Approaching the Scottish Cup Final, a refresh of the leaders in the Expected Goals and Assists map.
Whatever you might think of Burke and Weah, there is no denying they provided attacking threat. Weah has the highest Expected Goals (xG) in the squad.
Burke is a good all-rounder with a higher overall threat than Sinclair, for example. Assuming Burke is injured however, Sinclair should play.
It is imperative Edouard is fit as both Griffiths and Christie will be unavailable – Christie leads the squad in Expected Assists (xA).
To maximise the attacking threat, the Cup Final line up should include:
- Forrest
- Sinclair
- Edouard
With Brown and McGregor sure to play, it comes down to Ntcham or Rogic.
Personally, I’d have Rogic and Johnston off the bench as required.

Hearts will undoubtedly play 4-5-1 and employ a team high-press – just like Rangers.
Neil should know this, just as he should’ve know at Ibrox after watching the New Year game and the second-half at Celtic Park.
I would set up 3-5-1- 1 and take the initiative away from Hearts. If we match up in midfield, Ajer, Benkovic and Simunovic are all capable of bringing the ball out.
Forrest right and Tierney left.
Brown, McGregor & Ntcham.
Sinclair playing off Eduard.
Subs: De Vries, Rogic, Johnston, Toljan, Burke, Hayes…..& maybe Dembele.
Rogic’s current form and fitness does not warrant a start.
Duncan says
I would agree with going 3-5-2 only change I would make is to have Johnstone start off of Édouard and start Rogic instead of Ntcham who I think flatters to deceive.
If they man mark him he will be a passenger.
I would also put Griffiths on the bench if he is fit enough.
Johnny B says
Would have no problem with any of that, although perhaps only wishful thinking in Griffiths.
Duncan says
Probably Johnny bit what a game to make his comeback.
Sure he could handle 20 minutes of a cameo and we know how he hates the Jambos.
